Sparky repository provides a number of own tools and some 3rd party applications.
Sparky repository used on Debian “stable” based operating system.
Users of Sparky based on Debian “stable” branch should add Sparky's stable and testing repositories.
Sparky stable repository:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sparky-stable.list
and past into the file:
deb https://sparkylinux.org/repo stable main deb-src https://sparkylinux.org/repo stable main
Sparky testing repository:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sparky-testing.list
and past into the file:
deb https://sparkylinux.org/repo testing main deb-src https://sparkylinux.org/repo testing main
Create a preference file:
sudo nano /etc/apt/preferences.d/sparky
and past into the file:
Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=stable Pin-Priority: 1001 Package: * Pin: release o=Debian Pin-Priority: 500 Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=testing Pin-Priority: 900 Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=unstable Pin-Priority: 500
Otherwise, install 'sparky-apt' 4.x package to do so.
Sparky repository used on Debian “testing” based operating system.
Users of Sparky based on Debian “testing” branch should add Sparky's testing repositories (and unstable as an option).
Sparky testing repository:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sparky-testing.list
and past into the file:
deb https://sparkylinux.org/repo testing main deb-src https://sparkylinux.org/repo testing main
Sparky unstable repository (option):
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sparky-unstable.list
and past into the file:
deb https://sparkylinux.org/repo unstable main deb-src https://sparkylinux.org/repo unstable main
Create a preference file:
sudo nano /etc/apt/preferences.d/sparky
and past into the file:
Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=stable Pin-Priority: -10 Package: * Pin: release o=Debian Pin-Priority: 500 Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=testing Pin-Priority: 1001 Package: * Pin: release o=SparkyLinux,a=unstable Pin-Priority: 500
Otherwise, install 'sparky-apt' 5.x package to do so.
Update package list and install Sparky public key via the package manager:
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install sparky-keyring
or get the key manually:
wget -O - https://sparkylinux.org/repo/sparkylinux.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
Make sure you have 'apt-transport-https' package installed.
