SparkyLinux code names

SparkyLinux is based and fully compatible with Debian of the following branches:

  • Sparky 6 “PoTolo” (based on Debian 11 “Bullseye”)

  • Sparky 4 “Tyche” (based on Debian 9 “Stretch”)

Tyche is the nickname given to a hypothetical gas giant located in the Solar System’s Oort cloud. Tyche (Τύχη, meaning “fortune” or “luck” in Greek) was the Greek goddess of fortune and prosperity.

  • Sparky 3 “Annagerman” (based on Debian 8 “Jessie”)

(2519) Annagerman (1975 VD2) - an asteroid from the main asteroid belt orbiting the Sun for 5.57 years with an average distance of 3.14 au. It was discovered on November 2, 1975 by Tamara Smirna. The asteroid's name was given in honor of Anna German, a Polish singer and composer.

  • Sparky 2 “Eris” (based on Debian 7 “Wheezy”)

  • Sparky 1 “Venus” (based on Debian 6 “Squeeze”)
